Die Geschichte der Autania begann im Jahr 1906 mit der Gründung der Firma Rasmussen & Ernst, die später als Zschopauer Maschinenfabrik J. S. Rasmussen bekannt wurde.

1923
In 1923, this company became the Zschopauer Motorenwerke J. S. Rasmussen AG, which carried the DKW brand.

1969
In 1969, Autania also acquired the Swabian manufacturer NSU and merged it with the subsidiary in Ingolstadt to form Audi NSU Auto Union AG, which is now known as Audi AG and is based in Neckarsulm.

Autania Verwaltungs- und Beteiligungsgesellschaft invests in companies in the environmental technology sector.

Rothenberger Group acquires majority stake in Autania, renamed Autania Aktiengesellschaft für Industriebeteiligungen.

1990-2000
Autania acquires stakes in companies in the German machine tool industry.

Autania becomes Autania - Advanced Technologies.

2003
In 2003 there was a change of ownership and integration into Autania AG (Dr. Rothenberger Group).

Until 2009, the company offered overhaul and service for grinding machines.

After that, it specialised in switchgear construction, electrical project planning and CNC-supported sheet metal processing of switchgear cabinet housings and mounting plates.
